Waste Wise Schools
The word is out - waste wise is in!

Many schools across Victoria are adopting more waste wise practices and many are starting to show some great results.

Schools that become more waste wise can cut their garbage by up to 90% and save many thousands of dollars, money that can then be used for extra materials for students.

The Waste Wise Schools Program, funded by EcoRecycle Victoria, is assisting schools across the State to implement waste wise actions and to integrate these into the curriculum.

More than 400 schools are participating in the program. Strathewen Primary School, a regional winner in the EcoRecycle Waste Wise School Awards, has adopted a whole school approach to waste minimisation and now only produces one small shopping bag of rubbish a week.
